Although the leaves on our Prelude canes did suffer some damage from Japanese beetle feeding during late June, we did shut down early raspberry picking prematurely in order to control these voracious pests with Sevin sprays. Hopefully, this will not impact their normally excellent fall crop.
In 2009, we will have 900 feet of Nova and 600 feet of Prelude ( June fruiting varieties that usually produce a modest crop of fall raspberries in September and October).
All picking information on our fall raspberry crop is communicated via our email-newsletter -- click here to sign up. For 2009, the Prelude picking will begin August 31, and the Nova to become available in mid September.

Our golden yellow fall raspberries, Anne, never seemed to recover from the Easter 2007 freeze and were removed in the spring of 2008.
