Click here if you have not heard the folk tale The Three Billy Goats Gruff This would be especially good to read to preschoolers before they visit the troll.

Our troll normally lives in the woods near the
pumpkins. During the pumpkin season he builds a straw house near the bridge
where you cross the creek into the what used to be our blackberry patch. After the pumpkin
season he goes back into the woods.
Unless you are a Billy goat there is no reason to be afraid of the
troll although he is pretty ugly looking. Keep in mind that the Troll
hands out a free candy for the young kids brave enough to
cross the bridge. His favorite candy is Skittles, a fruit flavored treat.
The troll prefers that children come across the bridge by themselves --if mothers also come he has some special surprises and "friends" that are sure to keep mother away the next time. He usually is smart enough not to mess around with fathers though.
